The Beach Bowl Soup Cup Challenge between the schools has become highly promoted between Principal Brian Noack and Principal Jason Weeks. Both men realize students from the local community benefit from the programs worthy cause.
While the program is a spin-off of the Publix Beach Bowl award, it’s competition has created a much needed awareness for feeding those students and children living in South Santa Rosa County at this time of year.
“This year Navarre had a mission, we instituted our donate food campaign and ran the food collection activities on NHS ITV, on the school reader board, our teachers reminded students, and our students reminded students,” stated Noack. “We were going to redeem ourselves from our 2011 food collection effort.” Not only did the Raiders take the Beach Bowl Soup Cup, a trophy which will adorn the NHS trophy hall next year they also took the prized Publix Beach Bowl Cup for their sixth consecutive game win (28-14) against GBHS Dolphins.
Caring and Sharing serves South Santa Rosa County, those in need in Gulf Breeze and Navarre, but only during the holiday season, which is why the high schools unselfish food collection competition is so valuable to the organization and to the community.
