Juana’s Pagoda & Sailors’ Grill to hold 21st Annual Chili Cook-off to benefit Caring & Sharing.

Twenty-first Annual Chili Cook-off event is scheduled for Sunday, October 19th at Juana’s Pagoda and Sailor’s Grill, Navarre Beach. Many locals and friends look forward to this fun fall outreach event sponsored by Juana’s Pagoda to benefit Caring & Sharing of South Santa Rosa County. “Last year over a hundred persons participated in tasting and judging with over $1,500 collected for Caring & Sharing,” remarked Ann Thompson,

Caring & Sharing President. “This has been a consistent, yearly fundraiser for us and it never fails to run short of sun, fun, food and reliable donators who always come through to help feed those in need!” Caring & Sharing is a 100% volunteer organization, there are no paid employees. The mission is to aid families in South Santa Rosa County over the Holiday scheduled school breaks that need a bit of assistance and hope to carry them through existing rough times.

Saturday, October 11 and Sunday, October 12 from 2:00p.m. – 4:30pm. Monday, October 13 from 5p.m. – 8p.m. Interviews will be held at only one location this year: Liberty Church at 6006 Gulf Breeze Parkway, Gulf Breeze, FL (located next to Meredith Lumber on Hwy 98).

For the Chili Cook-off on Sunday, October 19th bring pre-cooked, warmed chili in a crock pot, with ladle, or just come to taste. Registration starts at 11am, set up at 12pm, with tasting from 2p.m. -4 p.m., and a $10 entry fee/donation requested at the door. There will be various competition categories such as; “People’s Choice”, “Fowl Chili”, “Double Burner” and “Bean There Farted That”. Juana’s Pagoda has been an unstoppable supporter and host of the event and local charity. “There will be chances to win door prizes,” offered Kendra Booth, Caring and Sharing Event Volunteer Co-Coordinator. “The benefits will go to Caring and Sharing clients.”
