South Santa Rosa County Food Collection Challenge!
Participation:
SGA Representatives at each school to make collection box and place (hopefully) in schools lobby entrance to collect food items each week and keep record of numbers of items collected.
SGA Representative should contact Caring and Sharing and leave message at: (850) 396-0321 when box is getting too full and a C&S Representative will be scheduled to come by for pick up.
SGA should have each school use their morning announcements, (i.e. ITV) to remind students, teachers and staff each week about the collection food drive/competition and keep building up spirit during the fall football season all the way to the final October 30th challenge game.
Specified collection time-frame starts: August 21, we look to have school representatives kick-off Caring and Sharing food collection and monitor for weekly collections >> Sep 4, Sep 11, Sep 18, Sep 25, Oct 2, Oct 9, Oct 16, Oct 23, and Oct 30* At the season finale game Oct 30th, 2015 the winning school with the most number of food cans/boxes, (no food jars/no glass please) collected during the specified time-frame will be announced victorious during the game.

Program intention is to promote a healthy, competitive school challenge, keep trophy traveling year after year, much like the Publix Beach Bowl Cup annual event. Caring and Sharing of South Santa Rosa County is requesting and would like your participation in this local food drive challenge between the schools. For the past four years each school’s Student Government Associations (SGA) participation has helped the program to become one of the most successful food drive campaign supporting Caring and Sharing, a 501(c) non-profit organization to help feed our community. The food donated will support Families with children that participate in the 2015-2016 Free and Reduced School Meals in South Santa Rosa County.
Caring and Sharing Family Registration is required for any Family needing assistance. Interviews this year will be held: October 10th & 11th from 2pm-4:30pm and October 12th from 5pm-8pm. Interviews will be held at Liberty Church 6006 Gulf Breeze Parkway Gulf Breeze FL (Next to Meredith Lumber). Thanksgiving Distribution is: Sunday, November 22nd and Christmas Distribution is: Sunday, December 20th
